The Rev. Harold W. Mowery 63 Amanda passed away Monday Feb. 20 1995 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born Sept. 5 1931 in Pickaway County the son of Clyde W. and Florence T. Wood Mowery. He was pastor of Amanda United Methodist Church and graduate of Blufton College and United Theological Seminary Dayton. He served 11 pastorates over 45 years of ministry. He is survived by his wife Jeannine Speakman Mowery; one daughter Margaret Maria and the Rev. Wesley Barnhill of Portage Pa.; one son Harold W. "Hal" Mowery II of Lima; three grandchildren Jon Wesley Barnhill Maggie (Julio) Meza and Jeremy Barnhill; mother Florence T. Mowery of Lancaster; and two brothers Harry A. Mowery of Columbus and Francis C. (Elizabeth) Mowery of West Des Moines Iowa. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Amanda United Methodist Church with Dr. Carl Robinson and District Superintendent Jeannette Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Township Cemetery. Friends may call 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Taylor Funeral Home Amanda and one hour prior to service at the church. The family suggests contributions be made to Amanda United Methodist Church.
