CONFLICT: The IGI shows his wife as Betsy MCLAIN I think that this is just a misspelling of Elizabeth Mechling. Elizabeth MECHLING and John George FISKY had the following children:
+170 i. Lester FISK.+171 ii. Melinda FISKY.33. Elizabeth MECHLING was born on 31 Dec 1784 in Westmoreland Co. Pennsylvania. She was baptized on 12 Apr 1785 in Zion Lutheran Church Hempfield Twp. Westmoreland Co. Pa.. She died before Aug 1832. She was baptized into the LDS church on 12 Jan 1977 in the St. George Utah LDS temple. She was endowed on 22 Mar 1977 in the St. George Utah LDS temple. She was sealed to parents on 25 Mar 1977 in the St. George Utah LDS temple. She has Ancestral File number BNXW-VS. She was married to John George FISKY. COMMENT: Dorothy Hallarn Mercy - It has been claimed that Elizabeth married 1st to John George Fisky. No marriage record has been found to substantiate this. Her descendants spelled her surname McLAIN. While I have not definitely proven that McLain is a variation of Mechlin still I am not ruling out the possibility so I am including Elizabeth and her descendants in this history due to the firm belief of her descendants that she is their Mechling ancestor. John George FISKY was born on 25 Aug 1787. He died about 1815. He has Ancestral File number LFDJ-ZX. RESIDENCES: At one time he and Elizabeth lived in Kentucky then moved to Clermont County Ohio where John owned land.
