79. Clarence Eugene GRIFFITH (78) was born on 15 Apr 1887 in Washington Twp. Hocking Co. Ohio.(79) He died on 20 Mar 1971 in New Plymouth Ohio. OBITUARY: Clarence E. Griffith 83 New Plymouth Rt 1 was found dead at his home Saturday afternoon after suffering an apparent heart attack. Born in Washington Twp. Hocking County April 15 1887 a son of the late William and Cynthia Mauk Griffith he had lived his entire life in that area. He was a retired farmer and had taught school in the county for five years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church a former Sunday School teacher and a former member of Ewing Grange. Survivors are his wife Harriet Stevens Griffith whom he married April 3 1910 near Ewing; a daughter Mrs. Harold (Mae) Zimmerman of Logan; two sons Harold Griffith of Logan Rt. 3 and Lawrence of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Clarence (Nancy) Bobb of Westerville and a brother William A. Griffith of near Rockbridge. He was preceded in death by an infant son Paul five brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Heinlein Funeral Home with the Rev. R.W. Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
