OFFICIAL RULES (Download Official Rules Mailer, MS-Word 97 Version)
The tournament will be a "Shotgun" start with each group teeing off on its designated hole at 8:00 AM. Registration and coffee & doughnuts start at 7:00AM, followed by a quick rules briefing at 7:45AM. Lunch and awards presentations will immediately follow after the tournament. The tournament is a Select Ball Scramble format with the following twists: --We will be awarding team prizes for low gross score. In addition, we will be awarding team prizes for low team score based on the "Bankers Handicap System." Teams winning low gross will not be eligible for the "Bankers" team awards. At the conclusion of the round, the Golf Course Manager will randomly select six holes to establish the Bankers handicaps. Each teams score from these six randomly selected holes will be added up, multiplied by three, and subtracted from 72. This value, which may be positive or negative, will then be added to the round score, giving the Bankers score. The lowest three Bankers scores will receive prizes. -- Prizes will be awarded for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive. NO player will be eligible to win more than ONE Closest to the Pin or Long Drive prize. -- Each team must use each member's tee shot at least twice during the round. -- Select Ball Scramble means everybody in the foursome tees off, and the "best" shot is selected as the point from which the next shot is played. The other members of the team pick-up their balls and bring them to the selected location and place them within two club lengths of the selected ball, (ball placement must be on the same type of playing surface and be no closer to the hole than the selected shot), then all members hit again. This process is repeated from tee to green until the hole is complete. Note: The initial shot selected may not always be the longest/best shot because everyone's tee shot must be used at least twice. -- Men will play from the blue tees and women will play from the red tees. -- In case of a tie, scores will be compared between teams, starting at hole #1, until one teams score beats the other. And most importantly, HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! |
