LANCASTER WOMAN DIES AT AGE OF 89
28 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren survive. ----- Mrs. Elizabeth
Thomas, 89 died yesterday at 6:10 p.m., at her home on 131 Pierce Avenue.
Demise being due to infirmities caused by age. The deceased is survived
by eight children, Mrs. William Good and Mrs. Etta Woodring of Lancaster,
Mrs. William Prindable of Kingston Ohio, Mrs. Jennie Finnerty and George
E. and Harvey Thomas of Circleville Ohio. Twenty eight grandchildren,
thirteen great grandchildren also survive. The husband of the deceased
died thirty five years ago. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 3:30
p.m. from the residence with Rev. W. T. Blume officiating. Burial will be
made at Forest Rose cemetery by James Sheridan undertaker.

87. OBITUARY: Circleville Union Herald - Thursday October 22, 1908
TARLTON POSTMASTER. ____ Cornelius Thomas is dead -- Served thru the Civil
War. Cornelius Thomas, postmaster at Tarlton, died Saturday at ten
o'clock at his home in that village of infirmities brought on by service
in the Civil War. He had been in failing health for 14 years. Mr. Thomas
was born in Ross County 72 years ago. He enlisted in the ninetieth
regiment and served thru the Civil War. Twenty years ago he moved to
Tarlton and engaged in the grocery business. He was appointed Postmaster
eight years ago by President McKinley. His wife died two years ago and a
son, Luther B. Thomas, last February. Mr. Thomas was one of a family of
twelve children, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Leist, of Kingston, cared for him
in his last illness. He has several half-brothers living; Harvey Thomas
of this city; Dr. Thomas, Lancaster, and Harley Thomas, of near Tarlton.
The funeral was held from the M.E. church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Rev. Mr. Goodrich , of Shawnee, a former pastor officiating. Burial was
in the Tarlton Cemetery.

Harley A. Thomas, 94, RFD #1 Bremen, died Friday of last week in Lancaster Fairfield County Hospital. He was a farmer in the Rushcreek area and member of the West Rushville Presbyterian Church. Survivors include four sons, Ernest Thomas, Rushville, Harry, Ben and Luther Thomas, Rt. 1 Bremen; five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Rainier, Cincinnati, Mrs. Elizabeth
Simmons, Reynoldsburg, Mrs. Mildred Barnes, Edgerton, Mrs. Mary Feeman, Bremen, and Mrs. Lucille Reed, Lancaster; 46 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, 1:30 p.m. at the West Rushville Presbyterian Church,
Rev. Roger Waid, West Rushville, and Rev. Robert Beidler, Sugar Grove, officiating. Burial was made at West Rushville cemetery by Snyder Funeral Home.

Bremen, 31 grandchildren and one great-granchild survive. Mrs. Thomas was
a member of the Tarlton Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, 2p.m. from Rushville Methodist Church with the Reverend William
Ervin of Rushville officiating. Burial is to be made in West Rushville
cemetery by F.E. Gano, Bremen Funeral Director. The body will be taken to
the home of the daughter, Mrs. William Feeman, one mile north of Bremen,
where friends may call after noon Friday.
