Sid's sire, Sir-Edvov, was a grandson of the British import *Rithan (Raktha GSB x Rishna GSB), who was not only used as a successful field hunter in England prior to his importation, but also descended from a long line of successful field hunters. His granddam Rish, was said to still be a formidable hunter when she was past age 25! *Rithan left a very successful family in England, having sired 29 foals there prior to his importation. *Rithan's daughter Safara (by *Senga) was the granddam of *Snowfire AHR#31944, who was imported by James Lewis. His daughter Scindia (also out of *Senga) became the dam of Scindian Magic (by Indian Magic) who went on to establish his own dynasty in England. Scindian Magic was the sire of Sheer Magic (out of Mafari) who was not only a three-time British National winner, but she also produced the 1994 Reserve British National Champion Stallion, Crystal Magician (by Crystal Voyager). Several of *Rithan's British bred sons were also imported to the US. His son *Shamadan sired John Rogers great broodmare, Serinne and also sired the US TT Cutting Horse, Jeasinde (out of Reisinde). *Astran (out of Astrab), another of *Rithan's British bred sons, was twice a winner of the Winston Churchill Cup (and also a runner up once!) prior to his importation to the US in 1961. He sired a good number of winning show horses in the US including Qyber++, who was a US TT Hunter under Saddle winner.

Sid is very reminiscent of his great grandsire Radamason. He is a very correct colt and should mature to 15 hands. He is now owned by Joan Milsum of Pittsburgh, PA and he will be joining his brother Trooper on the show circuit next year, in the Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse Division. Joan also eventually would like to use him as a Hunter Jumper.

Sid is pictured above in August of 1995 at 15 months of age.
